Top Ten

Things I've learned in the past year about my marriage. With my 1 year anni coming up.....I can't help but think about all of the things I've learned about marriage in the past year. Well, my marriage at least....I can't speak for anyone else!!!

10. Whether we do it intentionally or not.....we BOTH keep track of who put the sheets on the bed last....and if it's not our turn.....having a stand off and sleeping on the couch is not out of the question.

9. I learned I could win a gold medal in weight gain if it were an olympic sport and Chase can lose weight faster than Usain Bolt can run the 50 yard dash. And neither of us understand why the other doesn't "get it"

8. I've learned that men can become more romantic after saying I do. I put in 4 years of quality dating with Chase and not one romantic gesture. One vow later, I've seen my fair share of sweet cards and flowers.

7. I've learned that leaving during a fight is not an option anymore. There's no more "I'm going home!!" jazz. You ARE home so you have to deal with it. (Unless I sneak off to Merredith's house around the corner=)

6. I've learned that I probably wasn't the marrying kind, but I married the perfect man for me...which in turn DID make me the marrying kind.

5. I've learned that nobody loves you and likes you more than your own husband. No matter what you say or what you do.....some things even a friend wouldn't put up with....a husband will.

4. I've learned that MY dogs (pre-marriage) like HIM better and there is nothing I can do about it.

3. I've learned that in my marriage, some things are better left NOT shared....for instance:
money, closets, bathrooms, and socks (believe me we fought over socks and it ended in Chase calling his mother).

2. I've learned that even though I've been given total control over home decor.....I'm still going to find a random pair of spurs on the book shelf, a lone deer antler on the end table, or a railroad tie (yeah I know) strewn around the house.......and just because I hide them......they will come back. A man has to make his mark too.

1. And finally I learned, that even more than I ever thought, there is nobody else I'd rather spend every day of my life with..........because we actually do "get" eachother.
