A regular day at the house.

Lyla's Brown Princess Pony!

Today was a beautiful day and now that Lyla is 7 months old, we thought it would be a great day to introduce her to her ponies!

And she was EXCITED about that.

This is P2, Chase and I bought him from the 6666 Ranch in 2005. He was a 90-day broke gelding who we thought would be GREAT for Chase's cowboying needs. And he was. He can rope, he can drag cows, he can do it all. BUT....Chase always said he was so "dog gentle" that he lacked the "fire" he wanted in a ranch horse. I decided then and there that he would my unborn child's first horse. I was sold on dog-gentle.

It was love at first sight. He's such a sweet horse. Pretty....not so much.

There are a few other prettier selections available, but nothing as friendly as Ol' P2!

Happy with her selection, we will now start training her for Rodeo Queen. It's like Toddlers and Tiaras without the stigma. I have sashes, glitter, crowns, and rhinestone visions in my head already!

THE definition of a bad habit!

But the hardest one to quit. We have given up. At 7 months of age....she's officially...WINNING!

Lyla Christmas 3 and 4!

Santa came. He came to see me and Lyla. Sorry Chase. Naughty Listed. And being the perfect parents we are...we had a swing and one other toy for her so we threw in some gifts she got the night before at her grandma's house (she won't remember haha) and put them in with our Santa toys to make it seem like a haul. Thankfully we didn't get her much though because when it was all said and done..she came home with a house load of toys...no idea where to put them!

Christmas #4 at Gambi and Papa Creech's. We had brisket and sausage and all the sides. Lyla got 1 million toys..I'm pretty sure that's the number. But she was awfully fond of this sack as well.

Checking out her new princess ride. She's a baller.

Santa came to Christmas #3 at my Grandparent's house. She was digging him even though it was past her bedtime at this point. Check out those legs.....legs of a dancer.

Heeeey Gurl! (Pretty sure that's what I said to get her attention). I basically holla'd at her.

Lyla's Christmas #2 was at my Mom's house. Here's Lyla at the tree!

My brother still scares her. The only person on earth that makes her cry just by looking at her.


But her Nene will save her everytime.

Aunt Ninny was at her Christmas #1 and #2..she will also be at her Christmas #3 tomorrow!

Lyla's Christmas #1 was at my Dad's house. My sister-in-law Lindsey held her while she opened gifts!

She obviously LOVED it.

The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Christmas is ALMOST here! We are getting really excited around this house. My husband even got me THREE things this year!!! The one in the middle cost him a fortune, but it just keeps giving!

Lyla's First Dairy Tour

Our friends, Matt and Hollie, came to stay with us for a few days and Hollie had never been to a dairy and wanted to go. Well....as it turns out, our friend Amber's Dad just happens to own a great dairy! So we loaded up kids and drove out to Windthorst, TX to the Schreiber Bros Dairy.

Lyla slept through the first 30mintues of the tour in her stroller.

But as soon as she woke up, she realized there was so much to see!!


Like tons of baby calves! Here's the guest of honor, Hollie Williams.

Afterwards, we went inside the barn and watched the milking. I didn't take my camera because all of those people and cameras sort of stress the old heifers out a little. But Hollie did some milking and sampled the product. She gave it 2 thumbs up!

You better not pout, I'm telling you why...

Santa Clause is coming to town! And we've already seen him once. Lyla learned from her Mama to smile at the guy handing out gifts. Hehe!

Trick or Treat-Baby Style

Lyla's 1st Halloween was so much fun! She dressed as a cowgirl...which wasn't my 1st choice, but the most economical since we already had the romper and boots!


She got a can of formula and a toy from her Nene. I was SO excited about the formula...that stuff costs a fortune! Her and aunt Lindsey and Uncle Cuatro got her Ellas Kitchen baby food. It's her all time favorite. Again, excited about that too! Haha. She also got lots of candy that her Mom and Dad could eat for her!


Someone woke up at 5:30 AM this morning because of the time change...so Chase moved her to our bed! I woke up to this! So precious and I'm pretty sure Chase will kill me for posting, but I love it!


We were expecting bad weather this afternoon so I filled Lyla in about thunder and lightening, hail, and tornados...she was a little creeped out!


Creeped out, but getting really really good at sitting on her own! So proud!

What Happens in Vegas Stays on Facebook, Blogspot, YouTube...

We Headed to Vegas last weekend to see my cousin Adam marry his girlfriend Kaylee. We had a blast!!




But before the wedding, we had a little fun. As soon as we got to the Wynn, we made a reservation for the SW Steakhouse. It was delicious and VERY entertaining. In the middle of our patio dinner, a giant frog popped up over the waterfall and sang "it's a wonderful world"!!

Friday night we ended up on Fremont street. The old Las Vegas Strip. Amazing!

Saturday, we toured hotels, ate, and went to the wedding. I'm worn out, completely broke, and still smiling. I like that town.

I may not be as sharp as I once was...

My sweet Lyla was born 6-6-11.....I picked up her baby book today and started reading. I'm really amazed at how advanced my baby is. Especially when I saw how early she rolled over for the first time!
