Egg Sandwiches, Green Houses, and Wildfires!

Today was quite interesting. Nothing TOO exciting, but more unusal than most. I started my day at 7am. I put on my new black power woman suit. I'm not sure about the power in it because it was wrinkly and I don't know how to iron (thanks Mom for always ironing!) so my sweet hubby had to iron it for me!

I was at the WFAR (WF Assoc of Realtors) building by 8:30am to hear about everyone's new listings and by 9am I was out the door. I snuck a few pastries from the meeting and brought them to our listing coordinator at our office. SHE DOES EVERYTHING for us so she deserves treats!

By 10am I was back at my house with an egg sandwich (that I also snuck out) and I bribed my husband with the egg sandwich to ride with me to tour some homes. I also traded my power woman pumps for flip flops hehe!

Chase and I toured homes on the Realtor tour and I won a drawing. I think I should have won them all because as far as I know...my business card was the only one at all of them!

By 11am I am hungry. I don't like egg sandwiches and pastries so my stomach is growling! We headed to the funeral home to see my family and as usual....EVERYONE was there. We loaded up my Grandpa, my uncle, and my brother's girlfriend Linds and went to Hunan's.

Chase rode with my uncle and grandpa and Linds rode with me. We left Hunans and I guess we forgot about Chase and decided we wanted to go look at some more houses! We went to several awesome houses, but still ended up at her FAVORITE kelly green house! You know the one!

We show back up at the funeral home at 2pm and realize that Chase has been sitting up there for 2 hours! Ooops! My mom says that one of the funeral directors has gone to see a wildfire. DANG I WANNA GO!

So Chase and I headed towards the wildfire! The highway was closed, but Chase said he knew a dirt road that could get us close and it wasn't blocked. WHAT?!?! Lexus's aren't supposed to go on dirtroads.....only shiny glitter roads made of clouds right? Chase didn't care and drove us to the fire. It was INSANE!!!! Fire was everywhere! I've never seen such a big fire so close up. It's eerie.

So anyway, we are making it back to town on a backroad and we pass a pasture relatively close to the fire and Chase says, "your dad's horses are in that pasture". It makes my stomach hurt to think of things happening to animals and they were evacuating everyone around the pasture......sooooo I called my Dad and told him he had to drive with his flashers on to save them. He got out there, but they were going to be ok. OOOPS. Chase calls me Paul Revere because I will definately alert everyone I know to whatever I think is going on.

So, it was kind of unusal and I definately spent all day in the car....and why not blog right?

NO CAMERA. Chase seriously refused to believe that I didn't have my camera, but I didn't. I blogged last night and I used pics! But I could have shown you some crazy fire action.

But here is a snippet from the newspaper website and a couple of pictures that Jody took and sent me from Archer County.

"Numerous wildfires have begun in the counties surrounding Wichita Falls.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, volunteer fire departments were reported fighting blazes at FM 2345 and FM 368, Carter Road and FM 1954, U.S. 287 and Countyline Road near the Agriboard Plant, on Highway 79 in Archer County, on Highway 25 between Scotland and Archer City."

And basically, to ruin my day, the news station had video of a herd of cows huddling in a pasture and they said, "the fire took over this dairy and we don't think these cows made it" THANKS KAUZ for THAT info. =(
