Doggy Dilema

I am beside myself on what to do!! Everyone knows Jake is my favorite dog (ever =) and he is having quite the problem. I noticed this morning that his face/nose was really swollen!! His eyes were barely open. I gave him a benadryl and went to work, but when I got home, he had gotten worse. At 3pm, his face was REALLY swollen...you can't even tell his breed.....and he now had hives all over his body. I immediately wanted to run him over to the vet, but Chase said he was fine and he will get over it. Now, it's 7:30pm and I am at work and Chase calls (never a good sign)...and the dog now has all 4 paws swollen, a swollen face, and is twiching. Now what? Please tell me this is an allergic reaction and will be over soon. The vet has closed for the night! I would call myself a "panicky" person....I don't really handle things really well. I asked Chase before I got off the phone if seeing my dog will cause me to panic. He said, "yes it will". Chase doesn't like my "panicky" ...EVER... and usually says...."no you'll be fine...don't worry about it...you overreact".....but he had no excuses this time. I'm scared. I think I'll start "panicky-ing" right now.
